For now, in Portugal, it is still mandatory to create an account (or log in with a Google, Microsoft or Apple login) to use ChatGPT, but this will soon change. In some countries, such as the USA, this AI no longer requires you to log in to ask questions or give text prompts.

However, anyone who wishes will be able to continue using ChatGPT with an account, as this form of use has associated advantages that the ‘free’ version does not have. According to OpenAI, one of the cons of using this AI without login has to do with the impossibility of recording the conversations we have and the texts generated.

This way, use without login will be more for sporadic cases in which we will not need a recorded text to use later. OpenAI also says that the content generated is more limited, although it is quite vague about these “boundaries”.

Speaking to the TechCrunch website, the company only says that there will be «specific rules to limit other forms of content that may be inappropriate for a login-free experience».

Still, in this “disconnected experience”, as OpenAI calls it, it will be possible to turn off the option that authorizes ChatGPT to use the conversations it has with users to be “trained”.
