The news for the remake of “Vale Tudo“, one of the biggest hits on Brazilian TV, keeps coming!

After the first possible names for the role of the great villain emerged, it appears that Leandra Leal was invited to play one of the most emblematic characters in the plot.

According to an article in the Play column, in the newspaper O Globo, published this Friday morning (1), the actress could play Heleninha Roitman — a role that was played by Renata Sorrah in the original 1988 version.

This was one of the biggest successes of Sorrah’s career, bringing to life a fragile, sweet woman who faced problems with alcoholism. She is the daughter of the great villain, Odete Roitman, who was played by the legendary Beatriz Segall in the first version.

In January last year, Renata spoke to Gshow about her experience of playing Heleninha:

“Heleninha was wonderful, an incredible character. And Vale Tudo is, to this day, one of the best novels that have ever been written. It’s a current plot! Everything I did with Gilberto Braga was great and is part of my trajectory,” says the actress.

The remake will be written by Manuela Dias, author of “Amor de Mãe” (2021). Tais Araujo can play the role that belonged to Regina Duarte; Cauã Reymond will have the chance to be a shirtless heartthrob; and Fernanda Torres and Débora Bloch compete for the role of the villain. Read more here.

“Vale Tudo” arrived on TV Globo screens in 1988 and became a milestone in the careers of writers such as Gilberto Braga, Aguinaldo Silva and Leonor Bassères. The original plot is currently available on Globoplay.
