Buckingham Palace was forced to deny the death of King Charles III after this information was put forward by a Russian media outlet, which reported that the monarch had died… this at a time when it is known that Elizabeth II’s eldest son is battling cancer.
“The king died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon,” the fake announcement says. According to the ‘New York Post’, the palace then reacted with a note sent to the Russian agency ‘TASS’: “Fortunately we can confirm that the king maintains his official and personal commitments.”
Carlos III, 75 years old, was diagnosed with cancer in January and has been undergoing treatment since then.
Fake news comes at a time when Kate Middleton’s health also shrouded in several conspiracy theoriessince the Princess of Wales underwent “scheduled abdominal surgery”, according to Kensington Palace.
Both Kate and King Charles III are away from public life – the princess for recovery, the king for cancer treatments – but William’s father is available for some bureaucratic commitments.
Kate is expected to resume her official schedule in April, while Carlos is expected at the annual ceremony Trooping of the Color, on June 15th.
