With the news of Clarinha’s death, a family from Bahia contacted the authorities, claiming to be related to the victim.

Last Thursday, the 14th, the unidentified patient Clarinha died after 24 years hospitalized in a hospital in Vitória, Espírito Santo. Now, five DNA tests will be carried out to identify possible family members. Of the total requests, three were in progress, and two appeared after the death was confirmed.

The case of the patient known as “Clarinha” gained national attention after an article on the Fantástico program. As reported by G1, she was the victim of a run over on Valentine’s Day, on June 12, 2000, in the center of Vitória.

Despite police efforts, the exact location of the accident and the vehicle involved were never identified. Clarinha She was rescued by an ambulance, however, she did not have any documents with her. When she arrived at the hospital, she was unconscious and without means of identification.

Since then, the woman has remained in a vegetative state at the Military Police Hospital (HPM) in Vitória. During all these years, no relatives or friends came to visit her.

Possible identification

The possible family of Clarinha consists of a supposed mother, sister and daughter who live in Bahia, as well as a second lawyer sister who lives in the United States. The three women disembarked in Bahia this Monday, the 18th, and went to take their fingerprints at the Legal Medical Department (DML) in the capital.

According to the colonel Jorge Potratzthe DML guaranteed the possibility of making a comparison with the fingerprints collected from Clarinha in 2016, by the Public Ministry of Espírito Santo (MP-ES).

Last Friday, the 15th, the colonel also received news from a young man who claims to be Clarinha’s son, but did not give any further details about the case. “When he found out about the death, he went directly to the DML. I don’t know who he is or why he would have looked only now,” he said.
