Having been undergoing hemodialysis treatment for 10 years, Izauri Luiz Pereira urgently needs O negative blood, in Campo Grande. The man is losing blood, has been hospitalized twice for a week each and has not yet been able to diagnose the cause.
Desperate, the wife, Dorailda Rodrigues Pereira, 59 years old, follows her husband’s battles between exams, hospitalizations and worries.
According to her, her husband was hospitalized at the Regional Hospital for 8 days, at the University Hospital for 8 days, underwent tests and is awaiting a bone marrow transplant.
“We don’t know how or where, but he is losing blood, the bag he takes once a month is no longer enough and he needs more in a short period of time”, explains Dorailda.
The situation is even more delicate due to the scarcity of O negative blood. Last Wednesday (13), after a hemodialysis session at the Regional Hospital, Izauri was supposed to receive four bags of blood, however, only two were available.
“He was sad, I think I’m starting to feel depressed, I talked a lot and explained that everything will be fine, we need these donations”, he asks.
