Couple Arrested Accused of Murdering Janitor at Rio Bonito Bus Station

The team led by delegate Renato Perez, from the 119th Police Station of Rio Bonito, investigates the murder of the caretaker of the Rio Bonito Bus Station, Moisés Silva de Oliveira. Last Monday (18), authorities arrested a couple, identified as Jesuellen and José Iago Pinto dos Santos, accused of involvement in the crime.

The shocking crime came to light when agents from the Rio Bonito Police Station responded to a request to remove a corpse, found in the Três Coqueiros neighborhood, in Rio Bonito. Upon arriving at the scene, agents discovered the body of Moisés Silva de Oliveira, a worker who served for more than a decade as a janitor at the local bus station.

According to investigations, Jesuellen, who was married to José Iago Pinto dos Santos, had already had a relationship with the victim in 2023. Authorities also discovered that Jesuellen had pressured Moisés to acquire a vehicle, take out bank loans and provide other benefits financial.

On the 13th of this month, Jesuellen would have invited Moisés to his residence, where a heated argument would have occurred, culminating in the murder of the victim. The examination carried out on Moisés’ body revealed evidence indicating that the corpse’s genital region had been set on fire, which raises the suspicion of a crime of passion.

Authorities claim that the evidence collected so far strongly points to the couple’s guilt in the murder of Moisés Silva de Oliveira. Jesuellen and José Iago Pinto dos Santos are in police custody awaiting the legal process.
