Taiwanese manufacturer of electric scooters, Gogoro is a true industry heavyweight in Asia, having pioneered the development of interchangeable battery systems. After offering small capacity scooters, notably under license from Yamaha, Gogoro takes a step forward with its new electric model Pulse.
The Pulse represents the brand’s new flagship in terms of Smartscooters and should support its move into the luxury market to attract a wider audience. Mechanics, technology, design… the evolution in relation to usual production concerns all aspects.
At the heart of this electric scooter is the Hyper Drive powertrain that claims more energy efficiency and more performance. This is thanks in part to its redesigned H1 engine, which delivers up to 378 Nm of torque to the rear wheel and 9 kW (12.06 HP) of maximum power at 11,000 rpm. The engine is cooled by a mixed air/liquid system, Gogoro claims that the Pulse is capable of going from 0 to 50 km/h in just 3.05 seconds.
The overall design is modern and with minimalist lines, ensuring the Taiwanese manufacturer that aerodynamics were taken into consideration to reduce drag and increase engine cooling.
One of the elements that stands out on the Pulse electric scooter is its large front headlight. In addition to the look it gives it, this headlamp mainly brings new features, as it is made up of 13 independent LEDs that are activated automatically depending on speed, angle taken or even weather conditions. The goal here is to provide dynamic lighting adapted to the circumstances. Of course this also includes curved lighting.
The Pulse also has an instrument panel with a huge 10.25-inch color and touch screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QWM2290 processor, which allows access to the scooter’s various settings, such as its six driving modes, as well as as multiple connected driving modes.
Gogoro has not announced any pricing for the Pulse electric scooter that is expected to be launched at the end of the second quarter (June) in Taiwan.
