A man had around 90% of his body burned after falling into a heated tank at a metallurgy company located in Linhares, in the north of the state, last Wednesday night (20). Edsney Cândido da Silva, aged 43, had worked at the company for around three months and suffered second-degree burns.
According to Cleuziane Cândido, Edsney’s sister, her brother was rescued and is hospitalized at Santa Rita Hospital, in Vitória. He underwent surgery and is in a medically induced coma.
It is a sad situation. The whole family is devastated. Now we have to wait for him to recover, but we know it will be difficult

In a statement, Brametal, the company where Edsney was injured, reported that a team provided first aid to the employee. According to the company, he was conscious and interacting. From Linhares, Edsney was taken to a private hospital in the city and was then transferred to Vitória.
“Brametal regrets what happened and informs that it is investigating the causes of the accident, in addition to, as a priority, providing all necessary assistance to the employee and his family, who accompany him at this important moment”, announced the company.
