Galp will reduce electricity and natural gas prices on average by 28% and 19%, respectively, from April onwards, the company said.

In a note, Galp states that “it will update electricity and natural gas prices with average decreases of 28% and 19%, respectively, in the monthly bill for the final consumer”.

According to the company, these declines reflect the decrease in energy prices in international markets during the first quarter, which will take effect from the beginning of April.

Here are some examples

The company also gave examples of the changes, indicating that “for a couple without children with a contracted power of 3.45 kVA [quilovolt-ampere]this decrease could represent an average reduction of 9.0 euros in the monthly bill, from 32.9 euros to 23.6 euros”.

In the case of an average monthly bill for a couple with two children and a contracted power of 6.9 kVA, Galp says it could go from 56 euros to 40.7 euros, that is, an average reduction of 15 euros.

In the case of natural gas, for a couple without children in the 1st consumption bracket, “this drop could represent an average reduction of 3.0 euros in the monthly bill, from 17 euros to 14 euros”.

According to Galp, these new prices already include the value of network access charges (TAR), which remain unchanged.
