The singer is expected to bring the tour for her latest album, ‘Black Rainbows’, to Brazil

Winner of two awards Grammythe British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Corinne Bailey Rae confirmed his first performance in Porto Alegre and his return to São Paulo. Owner of hits like “Put Your Records On”, a track that has almost 700 million plays on Spotify alone, she released it internationally in 2006 and ended that year as one of the hundred most played songs in Brazil. Tickets are now available!

The artist from Leeds chose Theatro São Pedro for her debut in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul and the Teatro Bradesco in São Paulo, the same one where, in 2022, she sold out all tickets in record time. Accompanied by her band, made up of a quartet of experienced musicians from the jazz and soul music scene, she will present on stage a recap of her main songs from her almost two-decade career.

The setlist ranges from her self-titled debut album (and number 1 selling album in the UK), which propelled her to immediate stardom with other hits such as “Like A Star”, to her most recent work, the praised Black Rainbows, released in 2023, with singles such as “New York Transit Queen” and “Peach Velvet Sky”. The CD came about after a visit by the composer to the Stony Island Arts Bank cultural center, in Chicago, which houses books, objects and sculptures about the journey of black people in the United States. The result was a series of compositions that range from black femininity and magic to music as a means to transcendence.

In your career, Corinne was also the winner of two MOBOa British award that honors music of black origin, in addition to having received several nominations, including the BRIT and to BET Awards. His second album, The Seafrom 2010, was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. In the same year, with the EP The Loveshe received a Grammy for Best R&B Performance, for “Is This Love”.

In 2016, after a hiatus of releases, she returned with “epic music that challenges limits” – according to NPRfor their third studio album, The Heart Speaks In Whispersalso declared as “the best R&B of 2016” by the renowned The Guardian. The work included “Green Aphrodisiac”, named one of the ten best R&B songs of that year and selected by then-president Obama for their famous annual summer playlist.

In addition to dedicating herself to solo compositions and touring to promote her new album, she continues to collaborate with artists from different musical genres, such as Paul McCartney, Mary J Blige, Al Green, Herbie Hancock, KING, Kele Okereke (Bloc Party), Questlove, Salaam Rami, RZA, Tyler The Creator, Paul Weller, Stevie Wonder, Tracey Thorn, Logic, Mick Jenkins and many others.
