It is obvious that, within an unfair and accurate premise like this, those who go out of their way to fulfill their duties within the rules will still have to pay for the irresponsible adventures imposed on public finances.
What many suspect is that, from the Modern Age onwards and as national States were being organized, there was also an appropriation of their machinery by the ruling elites, so that the existence of one began to condition the existence of another. Therefore, it can be inferred that there is no government that can survive without the support and direct protection of the State or, in other words, without the resources drawn from the population.
Hence, it is no surprise that, in possession of this secret, the phenomenon of the multiplication of a class of professional politicians occurs among us, whose enterprise and great business is, through dozens of political parties, to profit from the State’s franchises. What is certain is that a model of this nature is doomed to failure. Not from politicians or the State, but from the nation.
The reason for the collapse of this model is the same as that explained in the fable of the “Chicken that lays the Golden Eggs”. Note that the magic chicken here is the citizen himself.
