Among the fluctuations in the price of cattle in recent days is the difficulty in maintaining firm prices, which is keeping cattle farmers up at night. In turn, they are holding back on supply, as the pace of purchasing from slaughterhouses is still slow. The proximity of Good Friday contributes to the worsening of the situation.

According to consultancy Agrifatto, the price is low in almost the entire country. Goiás was the state that felt the most pressure and had a devaluation of 1.0% in the daily comparison, with live cattle priced on average at R$ 212.00 per arroba at the close of Tuesday (26/3).

At B3, there is more optimism and all contracts had positive adjustments, the maturity date for April ended the day at R$ 229.55 per arroba, an increase of 0.33% in a day-to-day comparison.

“While the domestic market is showing instability, fresh beef exports are at a good pace, vessels in the third week were surprisingly strong and reached 55.27 thousand tons”, assesses the consultancy in this Wednesday’s bulletin (27/3 ).

The daily average of shipments was 11.05 thousand tons, an increase of 62.26% compared to the daily average of the previous week.

In São Paulo, the arroba was quoted at R$232.20, an almost insignificant increase of 0.09%, according to the index from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea-Esalq/USP).
