The value of HJT modules fell by around 3.3% in the last week on the international market, according to the weekly bulletin from InfoLink Consulting, released this Thursday (28). The average cost of these modules dropped from $0.150/W to $0.145/W.

In 2024, the price of this type of module has already suffered a reduction of around 10%, after starting the year selling at US$0.160.

With the exception of HJT technology, the value of other photovoltaic modules on the market remained the same. In April, the trend is for the sector to remain under pressure.

According to the consultancy, manufacturers should increase prices and regulate deliveries to control values. This is due, according to InfoLink Consulting, due to plans to increase production in March and April, in addition to the higher costs of both encapsulants and glass.

Wafers

According to InfoLink Consulting, for the third week in a row, the value of wafers fell on the international market.

The fluctuation of the 182 mm P-Type wafers was 5.5%, with them now being sold at US$0.223 per piece.

Meanwhile, 210mm P-Type wafers saw a 4% price drop, going from $0.325 per piece to $0.312.

Cell production remained stable at the end of the quarter. However, due to price drops in wafers, there were fluctuations between 2% and 3% in both PERC technology cells and TOPCon cells in the Chinese market.

In the Chinese domestic market, there were also price drops for several components. Type-P wafers suffered percentage fluctuations similar to the dollar values, in their price in Yuan (RMB).

Type-N wafers of both 182 mm and 210 mm suffered a reduction in value of 5.4% and 8.5% respectively.
