A federal government resolution published this Thursday, 28, authorizes pharmaceutical companies to increase the prices of medicines from this Sunday31.

In the text published in official diary of the Union, the rise in prices has a maximum ceiling of 4.5%, a value defined based on the Broad National Consumer Price Index – IPCAone of the most traditional and important inflation indices in Brazil and which serves as the main parameter for adjusting the values of goods and services.

The resolution also determines that producing companies must make the increase in the prices of their medicines clear to consumers and pharmacies must make comparative increases available so that it can be certified that they were not higher than the prices published by the Regulation Chamber on the Anvisa portal. .

Drug manufacturers and pharmacies will be able to choose whether to apply this adjustment at once or dilute this increase until March of next year, when the Medicines Market Regulation Chamber must release new rules and adjustment standards if it deems necessary.
