Man is stabbed in the back during fight over fishing net on beach in SC

The suspect of murdering Alexandre Porto Feliciano, 32 years old, in the back during a fight over a fishing net in Jaguaruna, on the coast of Santa Catarina, underwent a custody hearing and had his arrest converted to preventive arrest, according to delegate Gabriela Tisott Fruet.

In addition to the arrested suspect, the His brother, who was in a physical fight with the victim, is being investigated for failure to provide assistance. Cameras recorded the argument and the victim’s death (watch above).

The murder took place on Saturday (30), around 3 pm, at Praia Garopaba do Sul. When arrested, in Içara, in the south of Santa Catarina, the suspect remained silent.

According to the delegate, the victim and the attackers were not friends, but they already knew each other because they lived in the same region.

In the images circulating on the internet and sent to the Judiciary by the Civil Police, the victim appears carrying fishing nets and a kayak down the street. Feliciano stops at a certain point, drops the materials and begins to argue with a man who approaches right behind.

The two get into a physical fight. Then, the brother of the man who was fighting with Feliciano approaches and hits the victim in the abdomen and wrist. Feliciano gets up, but falls again and dies on the spot.

“What remains evident is that two men were fighting, with no immediate danger to the lives of either of them, and a third appeared on the scene and struck one of the men who were fighting with an instrument that caused the victim’s death in a short time, so much so that the victim cannot even be helped”, explained the delegate.
