On the afternoon of this Monday, 1st, Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho, 24 years old, gave a statement to the police, who also interviewed his mother. Fernando was the driver of the Porsche responsible for the accident that caused the death of an app driver in the east zone of São Paulo. He should be charged with homicide with possible intent, escape and bodily harm.
According to the g1 portal, Fernando’s lawyer, Carine Garcia, informed that she cannot yet disclose information — she intends to update the press on the case soon. The incident was recorded in the early hours of Sunday 31st on Avenida Salim Farah Maluf, in Tatuapé.
According to witnesses, Fernando was driving well above the speed limit on the road — which is 50 km/h. O porscheestimated at R$ 1 million, crashed into the back of a Renault Sandero, where Ornaldo da Silva Viana, 52 years old, was riding.

The driver of the Renault was rescued and taken to hospital. He presented with cardiorespiratory arrest and did not survive. Ornaldo was born in Maranhão, but lived in the city of Guarulhos, in greater São Paulo. The driver of the high-performance car is an engineering student at a large university in the capital of São Paulo.
Also according to the g1 portal, the Porsche owner is also a partner in two projects, founded between 2018 and 2020. One of the companies provides administrative services, and the other works in the construction of residential buildings and property development. Fernando’s father is a partner in three other ventures.
Fernando’s mother, who was also in the vehicle, was left at a hospital by the police. Later, when returning to the medical center to take a breathalyzer test — and hear the luxury car owner’s version — mother and son were not found. After unsuccessfully attempting telephone contact, the police began to consider that the man fled the scene of the accident.

A Ombudsman of the São Paulo Police Department informed the press that it will investigate whether there was any error in the conduct of the police officers. Authorities also said that, initially, Fernando was identified as the victim; however, during the presentation of the incident it was found that he was the possible perpetrator of the accident.
