Last year, after announcing the metastasis, she remained optimistic. In an interview with People magazine in November, Shannen spoke about her desire to continue working:
I know it sounds cheesy and crazy, but you become more aware and feel blessed. We are the people who want to work the most, because we are grateful for every second, every hour, every day that we can be here. Shannen Doherty
In January of this year, however, she showed that she was also preparing for the possibility of death. On her podcast, Shannen said she wants to be cremated and wants her ashes to be “mixed with her dog and her father’s remains.” In addition, she appointed a friend as the person responsible for the will, with permission to use part of the ashes to make a piece of jewelry.
Shannen has already made a list of people she doesn’t want at her funeral. “I don’t want them there because their reasons for going aren’t necessarily the best. Like, they don’t really like me—and they have their reasons, good for them. But really, they don’t like me enough to go to the my funeral and they will do it because it is the politically correct thing,” he said on the podcast.
The actress was betrayed by her husband during cancer treatment. In her podcast, she said that she discovered photographer Kurt Iswarienko’s infidelity on the day of surgery to remove a brain tumor. The two had been married for 14 years:
I went into surgery early in the morning after finding out my marriage was over, that my husband had been having an affair for two years. Even though I knew he wanted to go, I couldn’t do that surgery with him there. I felt very betrayed. Shannen Doherty
