Parts of the body of a boy who disappeared for months in France do not explain his death

The remains of the two-year-old boy who disappeared last summer in a village in the French Alps were found last weekend, but his death remains unexplained. Authorities say the parts found on Émile Soleil’s body do not indicate the cause of his death.

According to prosecutor Jean-Luc Blanchon, the skull and teeth of the two-year-old child found by the investigation so far “do not indicate the cause of Émile’s death.” “Between a fall, manslaughter and murder, no hypothesis can take greater precedence over another to explain the death,” he said.

The clothes found by a person walking near the place where the remains were discovered are still to be examined.

His name was Émile Soleil, he was two and a half years old, and he disappeared in July 2023. Since then, his disappearance has remained a mystery. But last Sunday, the story had a sad ending. Through the French newspaper ‘Le Monde’, the Aix-en-Provence Prosecutor’s Office announced that the child’s body was discovered on Saturday, “near the village of Vernet”.
