Furthermore, the session will be marked by speeches from the president of the Federal Reserve (Fed), Jerome Powell, starting at 1:10 pm, which could bring volatility to the exchange rate.

What is the dollar exchange rate today?
At 9:31 am, the spot dollar operates with gains of 0.27%, at R$5.071 when buying and R$5.072 when selling. On B3, the first-month dollar futures contract rose 0.19%, to 5,092 points.
The BC sold US$1 billion in foreign exchange swap contracts yesterday, in an operation carried out between 12:30 and 12:40, which sought to meet a demand generated by the redemption of the NTN-A3 bond, linked to the exchange rate, scheduled for April 15.
In this session, the Central Bank will auction up to 16 thousand traditional currency swap contracts for the purpose of rolling over the maturity date of June 3, 2024.

Why is the dollar rising today?
The US currency rises in the first trades this Wednesday, with traders reassessing expectations of interest rate cuts in the world’s largest economy, while waiting for data and speeches from several members of the US Central Bank.
In addition to Powell, other members of the US central bank, including Fed governors Michelle Bowman and Adriana Kugler, are scheduled to speak. Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee and Fed Vice Chairman for Supervision Michael Barr will also speak at events.
