Globocop records 10 balloon shots in the sky over Rio in two hours

The beginning of the morning of Saint George’s Day, this Tuesday (23), was marked by a series of incidents of balloons falling in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Globocop recorded at least 10 balloons in around two hours of flight.

In Campinho, in the North Zone of the municipality, a balloon caught fire. One part fell on Avenida Intendente Magalhães, and the other on a house. Soon after, a group went after what was left, and a man broke into a property.

Globocop was flying at the permitted and safe height, above 500 feet, when it passed close to a balloon in Engenho Novo, also in the North Zone. The balloon fell apart and fell, hitting the roof of a house.

Another fell on a military area in Deodoro, in the West Zone. The agents collected the material, but no one was arrested. Another balloon crashed in the Campo Grande area.

During the early hours of the morning, a balloon crashed at Galeão Airport. It’s not the first incident. In February, the fire brigade killed another one, close to the runway. A Brazilian Air Force plane had to postpone its landing.

Cases were also recorded at Santos Dumont Airport, in the central region of Rio.
