Senna’s NSX for sale for a millionaire price

One of Ayrton Senna’s most iconic cars is for sale: the red Honda NSX 3.0 Coupé from 1991. The model, which appears on the AutoTrader website, was driven by the three-time Formula 1 champion and was frequently photographed at his side.

The red NSX, which currently belongs to Robert McFagan, from the East Sussex region of England, was one of Senna’s favorites. The Brazilian kept the car at his home in Portugal during the European F1 season, and was photographed washing it in 1991. The model also gained fame after appearing in the film ‘Senna’, where the driver can be seen driving the car and even ‘frying’ the tires.

For wealthy fans, the opportunity to own a piece of F1 history comes at a price: £500,000 (around R$3.8 million).

McFagan, current owner of the NSX, told his story with the car: “I bought the car in 2013, during a trip to the Algarve in Portugal, and I’ve owned it ever since. The red NSX was given to Senna by Honda, with whom he had a commercial partnership. Senna used the car frequently and was always photographed with it during his stays in Portugal,” he said.

“Being a big Senna fan, I was delighted when I managed to buy the NSX, which is impeccable and offers an incredible experience on the road. It is a great pleasure to own one of the most famous cars owned by a true sporting idol, and the thrill of driving Senna’s car never disappears”, concluded McFagan.

Ayrton Senna won his third Formula 1 championship in 1988, 1990 and 1991, being considered one of the greatest drivers in the history of the category. Throughout his career, he won 41 victories in 161 GPs and took pole position in 40% of the races he competed in. Senna tragically passed away in 1994, at the San Marino GP, in Imola.
