Louveira confirms 1st death from dengue in 2024

Louveira City Hall (SP) confirmed early this Wednesday evening (24) the first death in the city in 2024 caused by dengue. The victim was a 46-year-old man who had chronic illnesses.

According to the Health Department, the patient was admitted to Santa Casa de Louveira on March 29th and died on the 30th of the same month. The test confirming dengue as the cause of death was issued by the Adolfo Lutz Institute last Saturday (20).

Also this week, Campinas confirmed 3 new deaths from dengue, thus bringing the total in the metropolis to 14. With the new death confirmed in Louveira, the g1 Campinas coverage area adds up to 26 deaths caused by the disease this year. See the number by city:
