Susana Vieira launches the book Lady of My Destiny this Saturday (27), and in it she opened her heart to talk about how she endured dealing with the loss of her ex-husband, Marcelo Silva, who was found dead in her apartment, in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio, in mid-2008.
At the time, Susana had just separated. The decision came after she discovered that he was in an extramarital affair. “I can guarantee that they were the worst days of my life. I had to be escorted and have security guards at my house day and night,” she said.

Susana Vieira was 63 years old when she married former police officer, Marcelo Silva, who was 35 at the time. The ceremony took place at the Capela do Patronato Operário da Gávea, in Rio de Janeiro, and the party at Miguel Falabella’s house, in the Itanhangá condominium.

The union had ups and downs. Three months after the wedding, in December 2006, Marcelo was arrested in a disturbance at a motel called Sulacap. He was accused of destroying a room in the establishment and beating a woman – call girl Fabiana Limeira dos Santos – who was with him there. According to the woman, there was no sex at the time, they just talked. The confusion would have started when he called his mother, Regina Célia, to ask her to pay the motel bill. - Death of Susana’s dog
The following year, in 2007, the actress went through a nightmare when she saw her dog, Heitor, a German Shepherd breed, being killed in a run over. At the time, Marcelo was walking with him, when the animal got loose and headed towards the Sernambetiba slopes, in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio de Janeiro. The actress arrived at the scene 20 minutes later and despaired when she saw her pet dead. In 2008, Susana Vieira received a call from nutritionist Fernanda Cunha, who was 24 years old at the time, claiming that she was Marcelo Silva’s lover. Years later, the actress revealed the content of the conversation.
She told me that she secretly went to restaurants, samba school rehearsals and other places where we were together. They met in the bathrooms. They had sex at my house in Búzios while I was at the beach. And it was in my bed. That woman told me that Marcelo even made a film of our sex.

Furious upon discovering the betrayal that lasted seven months, the actress kicked the ex-PM out of the house, putting an end to the union. Marcelo and Fernanda met in Praia da Barra and have since maintained an extramarital relationship.

That same year, Marcelo publicly admitted his drug addiction. In the call between Fernanda and Susana, the nutritionist, it would have revealed that he said he went to NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings, but, in fact, he, according to her, went out of his way to see her secretly.

In the book, the actress mentions the difficult time of having to deal with the exposure of the end of her marriage.
“I was ridiculed. Everyone said the same thing: ‘Do you think the guy wouldn’t cheat on you? And what do you want to happen to a much younger guy?’ He’s a young man. He was a man. He was my husband, not a boyfriend. I’m not an idiot, I wasn’t a little girl to be traumatized by betrayal.”

The former police officer was found dead in the garage of the flat where he lived with Fernanda Cunha on the morning of December 11, 2008. A team of firefighters who went to assist him tried to revive him, but were unable to do so. - Cause of death
At At the time, Jornal Extra reported that the cause of death was an overdose. After receiving cocaine from police officers in the center of Rio de Janeiro, he allegedly spent 13 hours consuming the drug.
