This Friday morning (26), an unusual scene caught the attention of viewers of Record’s RJ no Ar. Reporter Karolaine Silva was live on the newspaper telling details of a crater that formed on one of the streets in the municipality of Mesquita, in Rio de Janeiro, when a cyclist fell into the hole.

Wendel lost his balance when trying to cycle along Eliseu Alvarenga Street. The reporting team showed the problem residents had been facing for at least five months when the accident occurred.

This would be the result of an iron pipe installed more than 30 years ago. They also reported that this hole, the work… My God. There. Damn. My God. We have to help him, people“, interrupted the journalist after the cyclist fell. Residents rushed to help the cyclist. Luckily, he managed to get up and get out of the hole.”he added.

The neighbors helped the young man, who got up and went home. He then returned to the location and gave an interview to the reporter: “I’m normal, man. She was going to work. This is normal, it happens. It’s not just me who fell there“, he said, sending a message to the mayor of the city of Mesquita: “So Jorge Miranda, take it up your ass, partner“. Residents of the region complained and demonstrated against the situation that has persisted for more than three months. Three other accidents have already occurred at the site. A few weeks ago, a car was hit by the crater and got stuck in the hole. Mesquita City Hall explained that the work would be “extremely expensive for the municipality” and asked the State Government for help. When contacted by the RECORD team, the municipal administration did not return an attempt to contact us.
