Three people die after accident on Bahia road

Three people died and two were seriously injured after a head-on collision between a car and a pickup truck on the BR-101, in the municipality of Prado, in the south of Bahia. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the accident happened in the early hours of Friday (26) and the road was partially closed for two hours.

Both vehicles were destroyed by the impact. The names of the victims have not yet been released, but the three people who died were in the car. The injured were in the truck.

The two injured were taken in serious condition to the hospital in Itamaraju, a city 51 km away from Prado. In addition to them, a third person involved in the accident suffered minor injuries and is doing well.

The PRF reported that it still does not have details about the circumstances of the accident. Despite this, in the photos released it is possible to see tire marks on the road and an area with a lot of mud close to the highway.

The track was partially closed between 5am and 7am, when the two vehicles were removed from the scene. After the withdrawal, traffic in the region returned to normal operation.
