Coca-Cola will use Microsoft AI. For what?

-

Under a $1.1 billion deal, Coca-Cola will integrate Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) services, accelerating process automation and the cloud, and increasing office productivity.

Microsoft has joined Coca-Cola in a $1.1 billion partnership with the aim of testing new cutting-edge technologies, such as the Azure OpenAI Service, to apply AI to various business contexts.

This commitment between the two companies involves, for example, analyzing the potential benefits of Copilot for Microsoft 365, aiming to increase productivity in the office.

As a result of the partnership, Coca-Cola will have transferred all of its applications to Microsoft Azure, and the most important independent bottling partners will have followed suit.

AI & human

While Coca-Cola has been experimenting with generative AI for nearly a year and has already used Azure OpenAI Service to reimagine a variety of industries, including marketing, manufacturing and supply chain, the giant is now investigating other horizons.

Coca-Cola intends, in collaboration with Microsoft, to leverage the generative AI capabilities in Azure OpenAI Service to help its team members improve customer experiences, simplify processes, encourage innovation, gain an edge competitiveness, increase productivity and identify new business perspectives.

Coca-Cola's Y3000, generated by AI

Interestingly, in October 2023, Coca-Cola unveiled the Y3000. This flavor resulted from a request the company made to a generative AI. This is a limited edition drink.

The name Y3000 is due to the fact that the company believed it was “from the future”, highlighting its distinct flavor and design. Coca-Cola began by offering the Y3000 flavor in two varieties: regular and sugar-free.
