Helena Coelho spoke with Manuel Luís Goucha last Friday, March 29, on which occasion she recalled the period in which she presented the ‘Diaries’ of ‘Big Brother’ together with Mafalda Castro. At the time, the digital influencer was the target of an avalanche of criticism that led her to rethink the project, having withdrawn from it.
“I come to television for an opportunity and not necessity and that changes everything”, she begins by saying, ensuring that her work as an influencer was being hugely successful.
“There was a day when the program was just showing the generic and there were already comments: ‘There she is interrupting Mafalda’. The program hadn’t started. People thought I wanted to get Mafalda out of there”, he laments, ensuring that he even spoke to Mafalda Castro and clarified that this was not his objective at all.
The “bench coaches”, as Goucha noted, led Helena to rethink her place as a presenter. “It started to happen that I was coming to ‘Big Brother’, also out of effort because I was at home with my daughter, a time that was being delicate for me and I started to think: ‘why am I coming? I know how to do this.’ I started to believe,” confesses.
“Why do I need to go through this if it doesn’t pay for my mental health? I have my other business which was amazing. Suddenly I had to love myself more”she explains, remembering that she had just become a mother to little Iris and was still rediscovering herself in this new role.
The guest also thanked her for a message that Cláudio Ramos and Cristina Ferreira dedicated to her on social media at the time, only regretting that the words did not appear sooner.
