In the request, Yuri’s defense states that the student has suffered from anxiety attacks and leg injuries in the ankle region. Due to the problems, he has had constant monitoring from his mother, and difficulties in attending college and completing his medical course.
The sentence in the case was handed down on the day April 17th, and determines that Yuri can leave the prison during the day but must return to sleep. The student can still appeal the sentence
In September 2023, actor Victor Meyniel left a nightclub in the South Zone of Rio, and went to Yuri Alexandre’s apartment.
At the scene, Victor Meyniel claimed that Yuri changed his behavior after the arrival of a friend, putting him out of the place and acting brutally.
The two argued and, at the entrance to Yuri’s building, Victor was attacked.
After the conviction, lawyers Maíra Fernandes, Guilherme Furniel and Ricardo Brajterman said that, with the decision, Victor Meyniel “you can have peace and tranquility to move on with your life, with the feeling that justice has been done”.
