Mexe e Remexe will be the free dance class that Arapiraca City Hall, through the Municipal Sports Secretariat (SMESP) will promote with teacher Renata Reis, next Saturday (16), at 4 pm, at Bosque das Arapiracas.

The aim of the Department of Sport, according to Secretary Josenildo Souza, is to ensure that people of all ages can participate in outdoor recreational and sporting activities to improve their quality of life through physical exercise.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a sedentary lifestyle, which is the lack of regular physical exercise, could lead to 500 million people developing heart disease, obesity and even diabetes, in addition to other non-communicable diseases by 2030. The WHO points to a sedentary lifestyle as the fourth biggest risk factor for deaths in the world.

The Ministry of Health also warns of the risk of a sedentary lifestyle present in activities carried out when one is awake sitting, reclining or lying down, using little energy.
