Bolsonaro closer to prison: vaccination card is a passport to the dock

O former president Jair Bolsonaro definitely entered the prison route. On Tuesday, the 19th, he was indicted for defrauding his and his daughter’s vaccination card, in addition to being accused of criminal association, the first in a series of legal proceedings that pave the way to put him in the dock and suffer an inevitable condemnation.

He is suspected of using a fraudulent scheme to leave the country on December 30, 2022, in an escape operation which was planned for fear of being arrested as a result of his participation in the failed articulation of a coup attempt: the PF maintains that Bolsonaro and his faithful advisors wanted to have available documents necessary for entry and stay abroad while awaiting the conclusion of the new coup wave , aware that it would break out on January 8, 2023, with premeditated attacks on the Três Poderes buildings in Brasília.

VACCINES
The former president’s provocative and frivolous denial would have induced more than half of the 700,000 deaths in the pandemic to not follow the health rules established by the WHO. Bolsonaro’s indictment is the result of the collaboration of the former aide-de-camp, confirmed by the PF after a thorough investigation. Cid and 15 other people, including his wife, Gabriela, federal deputy Gutemberg Reis de Oliveira (MDB-RJ) and lawyer and former soldier Ailton Gonçalves de Barros were also indicted.

From now on, the ex-president’s life will be difficult: closed, the PF investigation will proceed to the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet and from there, as a complaint, it will be forwarded to the minister Alexandre de Moraes (STF) for the initiation of criminal proceedings.

The PF listed six axes of investigations:
• virtual attacks on opponents due to the so-called “hate office”,
• attacks on Superior Electoral Court (TSE),
• attacks on electronic voting machines and the electoral process;
• vaccine sabotage against Covid-19;
• premeditated boycott of health measures against the pandemic;
• failed coup attempt of State.

In the set of investigations there is also the illegal use of corporate cards and the search for undue advantages such as the appropriation of Saudi jewelry and other gifts to the Brazilian government that the former president incorporated into his personal assets.

Only in the case of vaccination cards, in which the former president included his youngest daughter, Laura, aged 14, law provides for sentences of three years to 15 yearswhich can be increased by involving the adolescent. Taking all the crimes together, Bolsonaro could be sentenced to around 50 years in prison.

JEWELRY

The chronology of the investigations shows that until December 20, 2022, the coup movement was intense and involved both the Army Special Forces, the so-called Black Kidsas well as a political nucleus of the PL, formed by the party president, Valdemar da Costa Netoyou senators Luiz Carlos Heinze and Marcos Pontes and the deputy Carla Zambelli who, without scruples, asked the then Air Force commander “not to leave the president in the lurch”.

The coup foundered with the refusal of Freire Gomes and the majority of the generals of the Army High Command.

OTHER CRIMES
