The number of confirmed dengue cases in Gaspar rises to 64

-

In one week, Gaspar had 23 new confirmations of dengue cases. This is what the epidemiological bulletin released by the Health department shows. On March 7, the city had 41 cases. On the 15th, last Friday, the number was 64. There are still 342 cases under investigation (92 more than the last bulletin).

The scenario is worrying and the secretariat reinforces the need to take extra care against the spread of mosquitoes. The main concern at the moment is the possible increase in the alert level due to weather conditions. The country is facing a critical period and the increase in cases in several regions has already led the Government of Santa Catarina to declare an emergency.

Dengue

Dengue is transmitted by the bite of the female Aedes aegypti mosquito and symptoms can include high fever, pain behind the eyes and intense muscle pain. In case of suspicion, it is essential to seek the nearest health unit for medical evaluation and appropriate treatment. Dengue hemorrhagic fever, the most serious form of the disease, requires hospital monitoring.
