As the cliché of those who seek to maintain a healthy life and body goes, “no pain, no gain”. However, in recent years, a series of products have been developed in order to make this “challenge” simpler and more practical: these are dietary supplements, such as creatine.

According to ABIAD Market Research (Brazilian Association of the Food Industry for Special Purposes and Similar), in 2021, 59% of households in Brazil had at least one person who used dietary supplements. Of these, 85% say they consume this type of product for health reasons.

Among the different types of supplements available, creatine is one of the most popular currently, being the most searched term on Google in 2023. This was a growth of more than 30% compared to the previous year.

In this context, the company VX Nutrition is launching Explode Creatine, which, unlike common creatines, consumed in powder form, brings a new form of consumption, sublingual. It is quickly absorbed, directly affecting performance during training.

This is because the sublingual region is a richly vascularized area, causing the compound to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream. In the traditional method, by ingesting creatine powder, it is first processed in the liver after digestion, making its effect felt more slowly.

According to Vinicius Vaz, director of VX Nutrition, Explode Creatine combines carefully selected ingredients. “It’s a formula that enhances training performance and helps you reach new levels of strength and endurance”, he highlights.

What is it and what are the benefits of creatine

According to the Brazilian Sports Nutrition Association (ABNE), creatine is a compound that can be produced by the body itself, obtained through food. However, these forms offer a low amount of the compound to the body.

This is because the body produces about 1 gram while food provides another gram. Therefore, it is through supplementation that the body can increase its creatine stores. Made up of three amino acids – arginine, glycine and methionine – it is stored mainly in muscle fibers, while a small part can be found in the brain.

Thus, creatine is a direct source of energy for muscle fibers, especially in high-intensity exercises, combating fatigue and aiding muscle recovery.

“We are confident that the launch of Explode Creatine VX Nutrition will be well received by consumers looking to maximize their physical performance and eager to see the results they will achieve in their training routine”, highlights the company’s administrator, Antônio Gabriel.

Also according to ABNE, creatine supplementation resulted in positive effects, such as increased strength and muscle mass, for example, in adults undergoing activities that require muscle strength and power.

ABNE also states that, in adults, creatine supplementation increases its concentration in muscle fibers by 10% to 40%, also depending on several factors, such as diet. It has also been used as a tool to help maintain muscle mass in the elderly.
