With the aim of raising awareness among the population about the control and fight against Aedes Aegypti, the Zoonoses Surveillance Unit (UVZ), in partnership with the Basic Health Unit (UBS), in the Piquizeiro neighborhood, carried out a walk through the streets of the neighborhood, guiding and informing residents about arboviruses.

According to the first LIRAa of 2024, Pequizeiro is among the 11 neighborhoods with a high rate of infestation, occupying 3rd place on the list. The coordinator of the Zoonoses Surveillance Unit (UVZ), Natanael dos Reis, highlighted the action. “Today UBS and UVZ will take to the streets of the neighborhood, ensuring that our message reaches homes and the most important thing is that the population is our partner, as they are the ones who can remove household waste and make it available for service. of public cleaning and thus take a very important step in controlling and combating arboviruses here in Caxias”, he said.

The nurse at UBS Piquizeiro, Cicero Rodrigues, spoke about the partnership with UVZ. “It is an essential partnership, all in an attempt to raise awareness among the community regarding the fight against dengue. Several cases are happening, and it is important that the community seeks out the unit so that it can be better served.”he stressed.

“It’s a good message for people to raise awareness about dengue care,” said Maria do Carmo, resident.
