Strike by SEF inspectors causes chaos at Faro Airport

This Friday there was a strike by Civil Service employees and the inspectors from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) also joined the strike, which led to severe congestion in the passport control area of ​​Faro Airport, as explained in the SIC reportwith reports of several tourists who stayed up to five hours in line.

The civil service strike, called by the CGTP, caused constraints in several areas, with the main impact on education, health, finance and transport.

At Faro Airport the effects were severely felt, with greater intensity during the morning and early afternoon, so according to a report by the SIC reporters who were on site, by mid-afternoon the situation was back to normal. .

There have been reports of fainting

However, throughout this Friday testimonies emerged from people who waited several hours, even five, in line to be able to enter the country. According to several eyewitnesses, some passengers fainted due to the large crowd of people in a small space.

Of the 24 inspectors who normally carry out functions at Faro Airport, only six were present at the site in compliance with the minimum services.
