The man who was found, on Tuesday morning, in the middle of the street in Braga by the local PSP, bare-chested, with his hands tied behind his back and his mouth sealed with tape, was beaten and robbed before being left on public roads.
A source linked to the process told O MINHO that the victim was approached, when he arrived home on Rua Mário de Almeida – next to the Taberna Belga restaurant –, coming from dinner with friends, by four men who demanded his ATM card pin and They were beaten for refusing to do so.
The group ended up forcing him to give his card pin and withdrew 400 euros from an ATM. They also demanded that he access the mobile phone application where he had access to his bank account, but they were unable to get him to allow it. But they stole his device
The man, who had to be transported to Braga Hospital, after being found moaning in the street by residents of the area, told the police patrol that went there that he had been put in the trunk of a car and walked around the city for 40 minutes.
As it was a possible crime of kidnapping, the PSP forwarded the case to the Braga directorate of the Judiciary Police, which is investigating.
Although the PJ does not comment on the case, O MINHO knows that it is suspected that the thieves knew the victim’s habits and the place where he lives.
