Bruno Fialho wants to use a subsidy to “hold responsible” everyone who continues to “insult” the DNA

Bruno Fialho returned to work as a “star”. On the Lisbon-Ponta Delgada-Boston flight, the presence of the president of the National Democratic Alternative (ADN), cabin manager by profession, did not go unnoticed. “People recognized me. They congratulated me, asked me to take seflies“, account. ADN was one of the big winners on election night, with 100,051 votes (when the ballot boxes abroad still have to be counted) – there had only been 10,001 in 2022.

The electoral result allows the party to receive €339,149.16. Bruno Fialho admits that the value “surprised”. In these circumstances, the president of the ADN warns that “he has the means to hold all those who disrespect” the party accountable. “We will not admit that they continue to say that ADN is an extremist or denialist party. ADN is a party of values ​​and principles. We abhor the extreme right. Anyone who continues to defame and insult the party will have to be held responsible for it”, says Bruno Fialho to VISÃO.

The party believes that it will now have “more conditions” to promote its ideas. “This is the priority”, says Bruno Fialho. “We will continue to share what we believe in. It is necessary to alert people to various issues, such as health fraud [da Covid-19], climate and gender ideology. We want to show our plans for the country’s economic growth and the fight against poverty”, she highlights. The party’s billboards have been gaining attention. The president of ADN promises that they will continue to be part of the cities’ landscape. “We have the possibility and the means to better convey our message”, says Bruno Fialho.

AD/DNA confusion? “This is science fiction”

Much has been said about the confusion between the Democratic Alliance (AD) and ADN. Bruno Fialho smiles at this controversy. “The AD spent a week warning its voters not to make mistakes. On the very day of the elections, and contrary to the electoral law, they launched a campaign to appeal to people to vote, and denigrate the ADN. I find it very difficult that all these mistakes actually happened,” he says.

It seems (almost) impossible to reach conclusions. However, there was a risk to the account – Rádio Renascença said that the ADN may have removed three deputies from the coalition that brought together PSD, CDS and PPM. “Honestly, I think this story is a bit ‘science fiction’ to think that there were 70, 80 or 90 thousand people who made a mistake when voting. I can’t believe that there are so many naive Portuguese”, argues Bruno Fialho.

With or without mistakes, the truth is that ADN multiplied the vote from two years ago tenfold. It was the party with the most votes among those left outside the Assembly of the Republic, with 1.63% (it had been 0.19% in 2022). To understand the result, ADN had more votes than CDS, PAN and Livre in 2022. Two years ago, Livre managed the election of Rui Tavares, but only had 69 thousand votes (the almost 29 thousand in the Lisbon circle were worth ).
