In the heart of Alentejo, the industry 4.0 revolution is already being felt in the olive sector, where technological innovation has been key to increasing efficiency and quality in olive oil production. Olibest, led by Germia Stavura, stands out in this innovative panorama with its modern wine press, which houses a true treasure: the cellar with 60 tanks measuring 12 meters each, equivalent to six Italian cisterns in capacity.

This unique storage and quality control capacity positions Portugal differently on the global stage, especially because, unlike wine, olive oil deteriorates over time, making storage a critical factor in maintaining its quality.

In addition to efficiency, automation is another distinctive feature of Olibest. With the advent of industry 4.0, automatic solenoid valves eliminate the possibility of human error when handling deposits, contributing to our unprecedented precision.

In the laboratory, analyzes are constant, and in the factory, the process is fully mechanized, reflecting the company’s commitment to excellence. Just three years after its inauguration, the mill was already responsible for producing 7% of the national olive oil in the last campaign, a notable feat that underlines its importance in the sector.

The sustainable use of resources is another pillar of Olibest, with olive pits being used to heat facilities, exemplifying the company’s ecological approach. Located in the Serpa area, the mill not only exports high-quality olive oil around the world, but also contributes significantly to the local economy, employing 30 workers directly on its premises.

The Company aims to double production capacity and reflects Olibest’s dynamism and growth potential in Alentejo, promising to redefine quality and innovation standards in the Portuguese olive industry.
