The Lisbon City Council and Carris school mobility project continues to grow and reach more children in the city. At the end of February, new schools were joined in the parishes of Campolide, Penha de França and Santa Clara.

O Yellowthe Lisbon City Council and Carris school mobility project, continues to grow and reach more schools in the city. At the end of February, five Kindergartens and 1st Cycle schools in the parishes of Campolide, Penha de França and Santa Clara joined this initiative, which aims to encourage the use of public transport on school trips.

Aimed especially at younger children, in Kindergartens and 1st Cycle, the project Yellow works based on the Carris Neighborhood Careers network It is allows little ones to go to school independently, by bus, without their parents. Children are accompanied on these journeys by adult monitors, who ensure they arrive at school safely, thus allowing guardians to have a more restful morning. There are WhatsApp groups for regular communication between the monitors and the various fathers and mothers, giving even more confidence and tranquility to the entire dynamic.

The project Yellow is available in 18 educational establishments, covering seven parishes and seven Neighborhood Careers: 26B, 29B, 37B, 40B, 61B, 67B and 70B. In the parish of Campolide, the initiative reached JI/EB Querubim Lapa; in Penha de França, to JI/EB Arq. Vitor Palla and JI/EB Prof. Oliveira Marques; and in Santa Clara, to EB Eurico Gonçalves, JI da Ameixoeira and JI/EB Alta de Lisboa.

O Yellow It operates at the usual timetables and routes for Carreiras de Bairro, which, in some cases, have been adjusted to better serve schools. Details of this initiative can be found here or here. To participate, fathers and mothers simply have to register their child, indicating the preferred entry stop and time, then dropping off their child at the indicated stop and time. He or she will arrive Yellow to school on time. This initiative is completely free.

Registration can be done on this page, selecting the desired school. In the academic year 2022/23, the Yellow it worked with three Carreiras in Barreiro and nine schools were covered, in the parishes of Benfica and Olivais, with a total of 50 students enrolled.
