The Madeira Ethnographic Museum (MEM), a space protected by the Regional Secretariat of Tourism and Culture, through the Regional Directorate of Culture, will once again host, on April 13th, a sensory workshop “Affections, Art and Nature”.

Aimed at children aged between 3 and 7, the sensory workshops are promoted by Educator Sandra Carvalho and take place in the museum’s garden.

These workshops provide children with the opportunity to discover the language of multisensory art, playing and experiencing aromas, textures and colors, through plants, found in the museum’s educational garden and aromatic and medicinal herb garden.

The next session, under the “Thoughts in Wood” hill, will take place on April 13th, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. In this, children will use wood, namely tree bark, but also leaves, flowers and threads, to develop “thought” creations.

MEM Educational Services advises that participating children bring comfortable clothes that they can get dirty and a change of clothes to change into if necessary.

Registration costs 15 euros per child (amount that includes the material used in the activity). Registration must be made via telephone number 910713972 or email [email protected].

It should also be noted that on May 25th there will be an activity under the theme “Weaving Nature” and, on June 22nd, it will be the turn of “Extensions of Thought”.
