Arbor Day: Celebrations in Magueija

Children from the 1st cycle of Escola Afonso de Paiva, in Castelo Branco, and those from Kindergarten and EB1 in Sarzedas, headed to Magueija, on March 21st, to mark World Tree and Forest Day, with actions integrated into the Safe Village – Safe People Program, which already covers that location in the Parish of Sarzedas, as well as the neighboring villages of Pisão, Azenha and Monte Goula.

The leisure area next to the Magueija river was the setting chosen for an exhibition of the various civil protection agents and where the petitions were received by the president of the Sarzedas Parish Council and host of the event, Celeste Rodrigues, the municipal coordinator of Civil Protection, Amândio Nunes, and the second sub-regional commander of Emergency and Civil Protection of Beira Baixa, José Neves.
