The future of the Braga coach has been hotly debated in recent days. It was almost confirmed in Botafogo but there may have been a turnaround in the negotiations. John Textor, owner of the Rio de Janeiro emblem, says the agreement is “signed”.

After all, Artur Jorge could see his transfer to Brazilian side Botafogo fail and remain in charge of Sporting de Braga until the end of this season.

According to Maisfutebol, the Braga president António Salvador did not reach an agreement with the Rio emblem to terminate the 52-year-old coach’s contract.

The same source states that in addition to the talks failing, the coach negotiated with Botafogo without prior authorization, last Friday, where he verbally agreed on the move to Brazil.

Salvador also failed to find a replacement for the Minho coach. The national press pointed to Daniel Sousa, from Arouca, as the arsenalists’ priority target, but the Arouquenses asked for one million in compensation and the negotiations fell apart.

After all, do you leave or not?

After the turnaround that the national press reported, John Textor, owner of the Rio de Janeiro emblem, publicly revealed that the agreement was “signed” and that the Minho club was “very well paid to release the coach”.

“Our agreement is signed, and the club was paid very well to release the coach. So far, they have been very professional, and we are satisfied with the negotiations. We look forward to a long and collaborative relationship between Eagle Football and SC Braga” , said John Textor.

Therefore, Artur Jorge, who has a contract with Sporting de Braga until June 2025, will be able to guide the Minho club this Monday for the last time, against Portimonense.
