The Municipality of Resende will once again organize the Festa das Cavacas on the 27th and 28th of April, taking place at Largo da Feira.
More than 20 producers will be present at this event with typical sweets, but also other local products, such as wines, liqueurs and jams, as well as handicrafts.
During the two days, the party will also be entertained by popular music groups and the youngest are entitled to children’s entertainment. This year, the program also includes a Cavacas Walk, taking place on Saturday, April 27th, with a route through the town of Resende. The route starts at 9:00 am, gathering in front of Resende City Hall.
The program starts on Saturday, April 27th, at 3:00 pm, lasting until midnight. On Sunday, the party runs from 10am to 6pm.
Remember that Cavacas de Resende competed for the “7 Sweet Wonders of Portugal”having been chosen as the best sweet in the Viseu district, reaching the semi-finals of the competition.
The Municipality of Resende left, through a press release, an invitation to the population: “On the 27th and 28th of April it is worth visiting Resende, to taste this delicious traditional sweets, known since time immemorial, and still made according to the traditional recipe, and take the opportunity to be dazzled by the magnificent landscapes of the Douro River, in this region“.
