Monte de S. Gregório, in Maximinos, will once again be the stage, on Saturday and Sunday, for the Grand Festivities in honor of S. Gregory the Great.

The venue for the party, Monte de S. Gregório, “one of the most desirable viewpoints” in the city of Braga, will be the stage for the event that has been prepared “for months” and will take place in a “large, green and quiet, suitable for the enjoyment of all visitors”.

According to the Festivities Committee, the celebration foresees two days of entertainment and “befitting” tribute to the one who is considered the “lawyer of the heart”.

Its program will feature musical moments, celebrations and social spaces.

On Saturday, there will be performances by the groups “Os Motap” and “Bemóis de São Caetano”, the latter with a “close relationship with the parish of Maximinos”.

After the concerts in the afternoon, at night the entertainment continues to be guaranteed, this time with the performance of “Verde Canto”, a group originally from Mós, Vila Verde. The day starts at 08:00 with the opening of the venue and Chapel doors and ends with the grand fireworks session, a moment that will close the celebrations program on Saturday.

On Sunday, the doors to the venue will open again at 8:00 am and, when it is 11:00 am, the parish priest Manuel Miranda will celebrate a Eucharist that will be animated by the Maximinos Choral Group.

On the same day, throughout the afternoon, there will be more entertainment guaranteed, this time with performances from Rancho de Vilaça and Rancho de Sequeira. The Chapel and the grounds close at 8:00 pm.

Over the two days, in addition to the musical entertainment, there will be games for the population and a bar that will operate permanently in the festivities area.
