The viral thermal cups that everyone wants are arriving in Portugal

New Stanley models always sell out in less than 24 hours. It’s been real madness on social media.

There are dozens of colors to choose from.

They have long needed no introduction. Whenever a new model of Stanley Cups is launched, North American stores are filled with queues and shelves are empty in record time. We talk about the famous thermal cups — called Quencher — which have become a phenomenon that is difficult to explain. There are even those who collect dozens of these containers that they flaunt like a trophy on social media.

At around 30 centimeters tall and with a capacity of 1.2 liters, it is a simple reusable and easy-to-carry travel bottle that tapers a few centimeters above the base. Each unit of the standard version costs €49.95 on the official website.

If you are part of the group that wants to add one (or several) to their collection, the viral cups will arrive in Portugal from May 20th. “The brand will be present in several physical stores, which will be listed from that date onwards”, reveals a source from the label to NiT. “I would like to inform you that this Internet sensation will have its own launch in Lisbon and Porto with a location and date to be confirmed, but in the month of June.”

Despite having existed since 2016, it is certain that generation Z played a crucial role in its recent popularity. “[Os clientes sentem] a rush of dopamine. There is a feeling of satisfaction when they find the color, model or limited edition they want”, explained trend analyst Casey Lewis to “Dazed” magazine.

Currently, the hashtag StanleyTumbler has more than a billion views on TikTok. Behind these numbers, people are obsessed with hydration, like young people who can’t resist a practical item that easily becomes a decorative piece in their room.

Still, the advantages are many. The Quencher keeps liquids cool for up to 11 hours and, when cold, up to two days. And there is no need to unscrew the lid, as it has a metal straw suitable for drinking and a handle for carrying the container.
