Everyone knows Samuel L. Jackson for his iconic phrase, but do you know his favorite films?

Samuel Leroy Jackson, or better known as Samuel L. Jackson, is one of the most important actors of recent decades. Likewise, Jackson became one of the most profitable actors in the history of cinema, with around 7 billion dollars accumulated at the box office in the films in which he participated.

Despite being an undeniable name, only achieved fame in the early 90s, aged 40. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film only has a 43% rating, but it won over the general public due to its similarities to the “Bourne” saga.


THE RAID (2011)

“The Raid” is considered one of the best action films of modern times. The film follows the leader of Indonesia’s most dangerous mafia, who hides in a building while a SWAT team tries to do its best to catch him without being massacred. On the review aggregator, the film achieved an impressive 87% rating.

Keith Garlington of Keith & the Movies, writes: “the action is furious and non-stop, and Evans doesn’t hide the kind of film he’s making. It’s breathtaking and occasionally thrilling, but don’t expect much in terms of plot or character development.”


THE GODFATHER (1972)

For many, it is the best film ever, and for Samuel L. Jackson it is one of his favorites. “The Godfather”, by Francis Ford Coppola, tells the story of an Italian-American family criminal at the height of mafia power in the United States of America. While trying to impose himself, an assassination attempt leaves the Corleone family short.

The film has a luxury cast made up of Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Diane Keaton, Robert de Niro, John Cazale, among others.


MAXIMUM BOIL (1992)

Another film straight from Asian cinema, this work follows a “police officer who loses his partner in a shootout with weapons smugglers, and sets out on a mission to catch them”.

“To get closer to the leaders of the group of criminals, the man teams up with an undercover police officer who works as a gangster killer, using all means of excessive force to find them”. A film in the image of Samuel L. Jackson.


KINGS OF THE UNDERWORLD (1997)

With Laurence Fishburne, Tim Roth and Andy Garcia, this film by Bill Duke tells the story of a dispute between the Jewish, Italian and Harlem mafia that took place in the 20s and 30s of the last century. An unusual story that captivated Samuel L. Jackson.
