Check out the main reactions:

“Perhaps the film’s biggest crime is the lack of fighting,” Little White Lies

Don’t forget to watch:

“It’s not that bad of a film, but an inexplicable example of a franchise that doesn’t deserve to be revisited. Why would you want to remake and modernize a film so embedded in its specific time and aesthetic?” Jason Bailey

“It lacks personality and sex appeal, which is exactly what a remake of a Patrick Swayze classic shouldn’t do.”, Matthew Pejkovic

“Very well led by the director Doug Limancleverly scripted and boasting a wonderfully original take on the action hero archetype, this new ‘Hired Killer’ It’s a total riot… In the good sense of the term.” – Empire

Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a fun performance that ranges from charming to menacing, but even that gets lost in the chaos of a film that needed to be sweaty, grounded, and urgent to work, but which becomes increasingly like something you’d watch on a Saturday morning. ” – RogerEbert.com

“Although ‘Rent Killer‘ is probably measured by the intensity of their struggles, the plot manages to shape a surprisingly grounded portrait of everyday Florida.” – The Hollywood Reporter

“The new ‘Hire Killer‘ is a fitting update to its predecessor’s legacy. Not because it’s better, or even because it’s so similar, but because it moves with the same unconscious stupidity that fueled so many of the ’80s blockbusters we remember so fondly.” – IndieWire

“This version probably won’t have the lasting reputation that the 80s version had. It’s fun enough to pass the time, but it lacks that sparkle that the classic has. – Next Best Picture
