AN INSPIRING STORY

According to the official synopsis, the film follows the story of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, from “her troubled relationship with her mentor and husband Diego Rivera, to her illicit relationship with Trotsky – exiled in Mexico and whom the couple welcomed into their home shortly before Stalin ordering people to be murdered – or provocative relationships with other women. Frida’s life changed radically in September 1925, when she was impaled alive in a bus accident. There were people who died in the accident, Frida had to undergo countless operations, but none of them erased the color of the blood that would later stain all of her work, added to the image, simultaneously raw, hard and at the same time sweet, of a woman.”

Jennifer Lopez coveted the role but Salma Hayek won. With the Mexican actress in the lead role, we also find Alfred Molina, Geoffrey Rush, Mia Maestro, among others.
