‘A Small Favor 2’ has been officially confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios, according to Deadline. The sequel will see the return of Paul Feig to the management, with Blake Lively (Emily Nelson) and Anna Kendrick (Stephanie Smothers) reprising their roles.
Additionally, the film will once again feature Henry Golding (Sean Townsend), Andrew Rannells (Darren), Bashir Salahuddin (Detective Summerville), Joshua Satine (Miles Smothers), Ian Ho (Nicky Townsend) and Kelly McCormack (Stacy).
In the plot, “We follow the return of Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) as they travel to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman. Join the glamorous guests and expect murder and betrayal at a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to Capri’s town square.”
The script, based on the characters of Darcy Bellit was written by Jessica Sharzer (‘Nerve: A Game Without Rules’)responsible for the first film, with revisions from Laeta Kalogridis It is Feig.
The sequel is being produced by Feigco Entertainment of Feig It is Laura Fischer and Lionsgate as co-producer.
The release date for the new film has not yet been announced.
For those who don’t remember, in the first film, Stephanie (kendrick) is a lonely mother who befriends Emily (Lively), a powerful and fearless woman. One day, Emily disappears and Stephanie sets out to find answers on her own, but along the way she discovers that her new friend was not at all what she thought.
