The film Saudosa Maloca will have a screening and chat with the presence of Paulo Miklos

The film “Saudosa Maloca”, classified by its director, Pedro Serrano, as an audiovisual chronicle, more than a linear biopic, about one of the greatest Brazilian composers, the samba singer Adoniran Barbosa, author of “Trem das Onze” and “Tiro ao Álvaro”, will be shown in a commented session at the Unimed-BH Minas Cultural Center, this Thursday (28), at 7 pm, with the participation of Serrano and actor Paulo Miklos, who plays the musician in the film.

Also in the film, which was highlighted at the São Paulo International Film Festival, are Gustavo Machado and Gero Camilo. Production is by Pink Flamingo Filmes and distribution by Elo Company.

Serrano, who has already explored the universe of Adoniran Barbosa in other works, expands the narrative started in his short “Dá Licença de Contar” and in the documentary “Adoniran, Meu Nome é João Rubinato”. “Saudosa Maloca” interweaves episodes and characters from Barbosa’s songs into a single plot, offering a social chronicle about the city of São Paulo.

The film features Adoniran Barbosa, aged 72, sharing stories of a nostalgic São Paulo with the waiter Cícero, while reflecting on the lives of the characters Matogrosso and Joca and their love for Iracema. The narrative addresses themes such as real estate speculation and urban transformations that threaten the characters’ way of life, mixing drama and fantasy to rescue the lyrical São Paulo of Barbosa’s songs.
