This is how Serie A announced the postponement of the match between Atalanta and Fiorentina: «Please be informed that the Atalanta-Fiorentina game, scheduled for today, March 17, 2024, with kick-off at 6pm (local time), and valid for the 29th round of the Serie A Championship, has been postponed to a date to be decided ».

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, some Fiorentina players were present when Joe Barone fell ill and there were immediate consequences. Fiorentina’s general director was admitted to the San Raffaele hospital in Milan.
